The Philips Series 9000 Prestige is a premium model, with a new design and new shaving heads, the S9000 Prestige is an entirely new shaver and not just a cosmetic makeover of the existing Series 9000 razors.
It comes with a pure brushed aluminum body finish meaning it feels premium and sturdy yet also remains lightweight. Add in the wireless charging and ability to shave even longer beard growth.
The new SH98 shaving head with its freshly designed V-shaped blades plays a big role.
Philips Prestige uses a lithium ion battery setup in the Series 9000 Prestige which is good for 60 minutes of use.
Wireless Qi Charger
This shaver charges via a Qi wireless charging pad meaning you just pop it down and it’ll get back to full power in just three hours from empty. The S9000 Prestige models don’t have a charging port and as a result, they can only be charged wirelessly via the pad.
Another nifty feature is an 18 minute quick charge that gets you a full shave from empty, ideal if you’re in a hurry.
New Multi-directional ContourDetect Heads
The Prestige comes with brand new cutters called SH98 and features a multi-directional ContourDetect head with three shaving rings said to capture hair growing in different directions and of varying densities. The rings consist of Philips’ new NanoTech precision blades, which are said to cut hair with the highest precision and can go very close to the skin.
The rings have anti-friction, metallic-pigmented coating for a smooth glide. It’s also worth noting that the rings surrounding the three cutters now have an anti-friction coating that should help the head glide easily over the skin.
3 Personalization Speed Settings
Just like the current Series 9000 shavers, the Prestige models allow you to choose between three different shaving modes.
This basically alters the power output of the motor depending on your needs. For example, you could be shaving a portion with very coarse hair or a sensitive area like your neck.
Other Features
- Locking the Shaver – You can lock the shaver when travelling with it. Just press and hold the power button for three seconds to lock the shaver from accidentally turning on. To unlock, repeat the same process.
- Lift to wake – the display has this lift to wake feature, something similar to what some smartphones have.

a) Precision Trimmer
The Precision trimmer is a simple trimmer that you can use for basic grooming. In order to use it, you must first remove the shaving unit and insert the trimmer in its place.
b) SmartClick Clipper
The SmartClick trimmer comes with an adjustable comb, allowing you to choose between 5 length settings.
c) Facial Cleansing Brush

The travel case is awesome. It has a very premium look and feel, it’s very sturdy and just oozes quality.
The case can accommodate the shaver along with the beard trimmer and the charging cord, so we can overlook the rather large size. All of them fit very neatly inside as shown in photo above.
